Pops takes on music’s ‘It Girls’
What do Beyonce Knowles, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson and Madonna have in common? Besides being beautiful and multi-talented, they are the most formidable names in popular music today. Their CDs sell by the millions and girls around the globe just want to be like them. They are, what you might call, this generation’s incontestable “It Girls.”

Concert Queen
Pops Fernandez
sings the songs
of the new divas
For her yearly major concert, the country’s Concert Queen, Pops Fernandez—an “It Girl” in her own right—will pay tribute to these international divas in a concert aptly titled It Girl. Slated on December 11 at the Ultra, the show promises to be an exciting evening of high-powered song and dance.
It Girl will also serve as a sneak peek to Fernandez’s upcoming album under Warner Records. She will also perform standard pop classics, fitted to her style of music. Reinvented, if you will, for reinvention, after all, is this lady’s middle name.
Indeed, Fernandez has reinvented herself in every concert she has staged and every album she has released. She has even reinvented the artist in her into a fashion designer and businesswoman with her Pipay line of T-Shirts, and as a topnotch celebrity endorser for a varied range of products.
According to the Concert Queen, this constant reinvention is a principle she applies not just to her fashion and career, but also to life in general.
“That’s why I am not afraid to try new things in my life and in my career,” Fernandez says with confidence. “I believe that it’s better to try and fail than not to try at all, and end up telling yourself in the future that I should have done this or that.”
Presented by DSL Productions and Smart Communications, It Girl is directed by Floy Quintos with musical direction by Homer Flores. Choreography is by Andy Alviz for the Whiplash Dancers. DSL produces. <http://www.manilatimes.net/images2/etc/dot.gif>
