The eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the early Nineties helped Pops hatch her won business idea. Stranded for several days in Pampanga, she hand-painted some T-shirts to kill time while waiting for safe passage back to Manila. Friends liked the shirts, prompting her to launch, through Ricco Ocampo's Fish boutiques, her own clothing and accessories line under the brand name Pipay. According to her business partner Joel Tuquib, “Pops does all the merchandising, marketing, and designing.”
